Insurance Coverage for Breast Reduction
With the ability to treat and alleviate the debilitating medical symptoms associated with macromastia (overly large breasts), breast reduction is among the few aesthetic procedures applicable for coverage by insurance companies. Breast reduction surgery is often considered medically necessary for women experiencing discomfort such as back, neck, and shoulder pain; skin irritation; or posture problems due to their breast size.
As a result, many insurance companies provide coverage for this procedure when specific criteria are met. Although Dr. Goldberg does not contract directly with insurance companies, patients who have out-of-network benefits may still be eligible to receive coverage for their surgery.
