What Will My Facelift Scars Look Like?

Facelift surgery is designed to improve one’s appearance, so it makes sense that patients would be curious where the incisions will be located and how visible they might be once healed. As an extensively trained plastic surgeon, Dr. Neal Goldberg is very conscious of these concerns and makes every effort to keep any signs of surgery as inconspicuous as possible. This procedure can be performed a number of ways, but in most cases the incisions are located alongside or within the hairline near the temple, which will then continue down and around the ear, finishing where the scalp ends. This incision may be longer or shorter depending on the unique treatment plan of the individual.

During your initial consultation, Dr. Goldberg will discuss the location of the facelift incisions with you so that you know what to expect. As for the healing process, it’s very important for you to follow all instructions provided. While pink and raised at first, the scars should slowly fade in color and become flatter with time. We can offer suggestions on how to help this process along and achieve the best possible outcome.

We understand you want your results to be fantastic, and so do we. We’re happy to provide additional information if you want to talk with our skilled medical team.
